We all know that edge of our seats feeling, eagerly anticipating something new, whether it’s the construction of a house, the excitement of a new car, or the feeling on Christmas Eve when we couldn’t wait to see that shiny new toy in the morning! The excitement of something great coming into our lives is truly exhilarating. I’m thrilled to share with you the second dream the Lord vividly gave me, which has filled me with that very excitement! I encourage you not to jump track but to keep an open mind and hear what the Lord might have to say.
**Living Stones**
In this dream, I was driving to a church here in Elk City, a mainstream denominational church. It is a church that I’ve been praying for the Pastor of daily for the past few years. Surprisingly, I discovered it had been torn down, leaving only some brick fence pillars standing. Initially, my heart sank as I feared they had closed their doors. But I quickly realized construction was underway—they were building a new church! A new house to facilitate the work and the people the Father would bring in this season of increase and favor!
Filled with anticipation and hope, I could sense a charge of power and change in the air. The Lord began to reveal that He is creating something new on the solid rock of Jesus, free from the traditions of men. This would be the Church that Jesus promised to build, and the gates of hell will not prevail against it. A church filled with power, favor, anointing, and truth, a strong net that would genuinely be fishers of men!
As I contemplated sharing this dream, I prayed for guidance on communicating it respectfully to those of various denominational beliefs. “I” somehow saw the dream as relating to rebuilding religious denominations on foundational truths. As a non-denominational Pastor, I was aware that I might disagree with some of their teachings as they would with mine, so I wanted to be careful not to offend any of my friends and drive them away. My only desire was to see them set free from anything that might be holding them back in the Lord! Wow! Can you believe my arrogance?
The Lord spoke to me immediately and clearly, saying, “If you think they think like that or that they are the problem with the church, then you’re thinking just like you think they think!” This message struck my heart deeply. It became abundantly clear the Lord is doing something incredibly profound within “The Church”, not just in those that I or we may think need it.
I fully realize that all of us make up The Church! My pastor and spiritual father, Andy Taylor, always taught me that The Church consists of all of us; it’s not us and them! We all share the responsibility for the state of the Church as a whole. Even non-denominational churches can become entangled in the traditions and doctrines of men, and they often do. We are the same family in different houses.
There are over 55,000 denominations in the world, including the non-denominational ones. It’s heartbreaking that we, as the Church, have chosen to focus on what divides us instead of on the One who unites us! We are in a season of favor and grace, where the Father intends to dismantle the walls that separate and contain us. He fully intends to build His Church His way.
His approach to building is centered on revelational truths through relational investment, i.e., Transformational Influence, which strengthens our bonds as living stones to the point where the gates of hell cannot prevail against us. In this Church, there is to be no backbiting, envy, strife, or competition. Instead, every member is to prefer one another in love, as Paul said, “I will no longer regard any man according to the flesh.” We are to see one another in Christ through the eyes of love. This is the way of the Kingdom! It embodies the true synergy of the whole, bringing Heaven to earth through the power of love.
There is a change is coming! It is a change brought about by grace through faith, fostering unity in the Spirit through the bond of peace. It is the currency of love—agape—as the medium of exchange among all believers. It is a love that covers a multitude of sins and is the evidence by which Jesus said the world would recognize us.
The love of God among His children is to overshadow any perception from the world of a church filled with hypocrisy. This unity in love will transform everything and everyone around us with the power of Heaven’s influence! It is Christ in us, the hope of glory.
This house of love will never fail! It is a house built with living stones! It is the house the Father is actively building in this season and beyond! The Kingdom is available to us all in a way we have never experienced it before! It’s up to us to get up, go after it, and lay hold of it. (Matt 11:12) Let’s say yes; LET’S GO DEEPER! Let’s be the living stones!
