Over the years, I’ve seen many Christians struggle with the age-old questions of what is my gifting and why am I here. If that is you, the answer is closer than you might think! Whether you have a good idea or do not know the answer to those questions, I want to help get you going in the right direction to find and/or increase your Kingdom gifting and lane!

We all have a gift in purpose! God has given us a gift not just on purpose but in purpose. It is a gift for the purpose He has created and called you for! It’s a gift of Kingdom purpose, a deposit of blessing and anointing that God placed in you before you were born. Before you knew Jesus, it was just a talent, a strength, or a personality trait, but in Him, it has become a tool in the hand of God to change the world!

In Ephesians 2:10, Paul tells us that we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for the good works He has already prepared for us to walk in. God designed you specifically for a time such as this! You are where you are because God created you with a unique set of gifts to add flavor and bring about change on the planet!

In finding your gifting, a good place to start is a study of Romans 12:6-8. This passage is known as the motivational or personality gifts. Seven are listed, and though you may be strong in more than one, one of them will be your motivational gift in the Body of Christ. Each one will look a little different on us individually, coupled with our natural talents. Learning about your motivational gifting in the Lord is detrimental on your path to purpose. (I invite you to follow me as I teach through them over the next few Sundays @ CCF)

I encourage you to start considering what comes naturally to you. What are your strengths? What ignites your passion? Which activities bring you excitement, fulfillment, and joy? Reflect on the things that make you feel accomplished. It’s often in your natural talents and characteristics that God has placed you here with a purpose. Understanding these qualities can help you recognize your motivational gifting and use your talents and passions to serve the Lord.

Our gifts are meant to be given and surrendered to the Father for His glory and the good of the whole body of Christ. We are tools in the hands of the Wise Master Builder, serving to bring unity, peace, edification, and blessings in love. You have a place, a calling, and a ministry within the body of Christ, and the gifts He has placed within you are strategically important to His purposes.

To ensure the stability, growth, and effectiveness of our gifts and purpose, it is essential that we stay connected with both the Father and the church body. A member out of joint is dislocated from its purpose and rendered ineffective. We thrive only when we abide in Him and are in fellowship with one another. It is the only place where we grow in unity through love and become built up and equipped for the work of the ministry.

We are meant for more than just living our best Christian lives until we are caught up in the glorious heavens with Jesus for eternity. You and I were created for a targeted purpose and destiny in the Kingdom of God. God looked into the time we are living in and said, “I need you here to effect Kingdom change on the planet.”

So, go deeper! Dig in! Stay connected! Ask! Seek, and you will discover your gifting and purpose as a child of the Living God! It’s who you are called to be: a world-changing, royal priesthood of passionate, hard-charging Kingdom seekers!
